Refund & Cancellation Policy
Cancel any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for; no partial refunds. Here is exactly how it works.
1. Free trial
Every new account gets a free trial of the Pro plan for the number of days shown at signup. No payment method is required and nothing is charged. When the trial ends, your account simply moves to the Free plan unless you have chosen a paid plan.
2. How subscriptions renew
Paid plans are billed in advance for each monthly or yearly period and renew automatically at the end of it, on the date shown on your Billing page, until you cancel. Renewal charges are made by the payment provider you subscribed with (PayPal), which also sends you its own receipt.
3. Cancelling
Cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. The effect is immediate and simple:
- No further charges are made.
- Your plan stays fully active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for — the exact date is shown on the Billing page and in the confirmation email.
- On that date your account moves to the Free plan automatically. Widgets beyond the Free plan's limit are paused (they stop taking bookings) but are never deleted, and your data stays.
- You can subscribe again at any time; a new subscription starts, and is charged, right away.
A cancelled subscription cannot be un-cancelled — if you change your mind, simply subscribe again.
4. Refunds
We do not refund the unused part of a billing period after cancellation, on monthly or yearly plans. Choosing yearly billing is a commitment to the year in exchange for its lower price.
We do refund, in full and to the original payment method, if we charged you in error, charged you twice, or if a fault on our side prevented you from using the Service for a substantial part of a billing period. Write to smartwidget.app@gmail.com within 14 days of the charge with your account email and the date of the charge; we answer within 5 business days.
5. Right of withdrawal for consumers
If you are a consumer in the European Union (subscribing for purposes outside your trade or profession), you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a subscription. By subscribing you ask us to start the Service immediately; if you withdraw within those 14 days you pay only for the days used, and we refund the rest. This right does not apply once the 14 days have passed, and does not affect the free trial, which costs nothing.
6. Payments made to businesses through their widgets
If you paid a business for a booking through its Smart Widget Platform widget, that payment went directly to that business through Stripe or PayPal. Smart Widget Platform never holds those funds and cannot refund them. Contact the business you booked with; its own cancellation and refund conditions apply, and your payment provider's buyer protection may too.
